Contact AJLI

The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) is made up of 293 Junior Leagues in four countries. Together, we are one of the largest, international volunteer organizations for women interested in making a positive impact in their communities.

Our Association is rooted in the belief that a group of women can be a powerful force for change. The Junior Leagues offer women the opportunity to implement change in their communities and to connect with other women with a concern for present and future generations. AJLI develops and empowers women leaders to increase the impact that Junior Leagues make in their communities.

Mission
The Association of Junior Leagues International Inc. (AJLI) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Vision
Through the power of our association, Junior Leagues strengthen communities by embracing diverse perspectives, building partnerships and inspiring shared solutions.

Reaching Out
The Association of Junior Leagues International reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.

Organizational Structure
The 293 Junior Leagues throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Great Britain have a collective membership of more than 170,000 women. The international headquarters in New York City serves as a base from which staff and volunteers serve the Junior Leagues. With a staff of nearly 50 talented individuals, AJLI is organized into four departments under the leadership of Executive Director Jane Silverman: League Services, Organizational Leadership, Governance and Communications, and Finance and Administration.

AJLI is governed by an 18-member Board of Directors, all of whom are members of the Junior League. The Board is accountable to the Leagues for the development of ends policies, and the Board has recently adopted a system of Policy Governance. A 14-Member Nominating Committee of elected League members manages the process that determines a slate of nominees for Association leadership positions.

Funding
AJLI is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All of AJLI's programs and activities are supported by membership dues, foundation and corporate grants, and revenue-producing efforts.
