Vision Statement

The JLS will strive to improve the quality of family welfare by leading and empowering the community to make positive changes in the areas of child growth and development and parental education. Through extensive education, commitment of resources, and collaboration efforts, we will establish a legacy of awareness, service, and personal involvement.


Position Statements

Arts
Junior League of Springfield, Inc. supports and encourages the development and promotion of the arts for the cultural enrichment of all citizens of the community.

Children
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. is committed to assuring that children have the opportunities and services essential for their physical, emotional, intellectual, mental, and social growth, and will advocate to see that such opportunities and services are provided.

Downtown
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. will advocate to stimulate the continuing development of the downtown area into a vital environment beneficial to the Springfield community.

Education
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. supports efforts to ensure that citizens of all ages have access to quality education that will provide them with the academic, literacy, and vocational skills necessary to become productive members of our society. The League is committed to promoting the policies and programs directed toward achieving that goal.

Environment
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. promotes environmental awareness and encourages, through education, advocacy, and action, responsibility in the attainment of a safer, cleaner, and healthier environment in order to improve and preserve the quality of animal, plant, and human life for posterity.

Elderly
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. is committed to ensuring that older adults have the opportunities and services essential for their physical, intellectual, emotional, mental, social, and economic well-being and will advocate to see that such opportunities and services exist.

Family Violence
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. is committed to working toward eliminating family violence by supporting programs and legislation designed to understand the problem, assist and protect the victims and work effectively with the abusers.

Lincoln Heritage
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. is committed to preserving and fostering the heritage of Abraham Lincoln.

Multiculturalism and Diversity
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. is committed to ensuring that there is a recognition and respect of all people regardless of their ethnic, racial, religious origin or physical or mental disability ensuring equal access to resources and life-sustaining services and promoting appreciation of diverse cultures.

Quality of Life
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. is committed to improving the quality of life for all residents of our community by creating an environment, which will provide the basic necessities of life including affordable housing, health care, nutrition, education, training and employment.

Voluntarism
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. supports and promotes voluntarism as an essential component of our society and will continue to take action, which will ensure the effectiveness of the voluntary sector.

Women
The Junior League of Springfield, Inc. is committed to ensuring that women have the opportunities and services essential for their physical, intellectual, emotional, mental, social, and economic well-being and will advocate for development of legislation, programs, and services that promote and improve the quality of life for women.
